Lumber & Building Supply Dealer Roundtables: Helping Each Other Succeed
Lee Resources International, Inc. have collaborated with Dealer Associations to bring you this proven concept. Roundtable involvement is virtually guaranteed to impact your bottom line. Between 2005 and 2007, a member of one of our roundtables has improved his profitability from 1.4% to 3.2%, while increasing owner’s salary from 2.5% of sales to 5.4% of sales. The improvement in several companies is dramatic and the owners of those companies attribute their improvement in performance directly to their participation in the roundtable.
What is a Roundtable?
The concept of a roundtable is simple and effective. Eight to ten non-competing lumber dealers get together twice a year to discuss ways to improve their businesses. There are many topics that are addressed. Typically, the owner of the business and one of his key people attend each meeting. The concept also works very well for Operation Managers, Controllers and CFO’s, and Sales Managers should you be interested.
What are the benefits of joining a Roundtable?
You learn from people who are actually facing the same challenges as you face every day. There is no abstract theory here. You hear actual success stories and learn practical ways to handle challenges and increase sales, margins and profitability. Because we are careful to assure that there are no competing dealers in a roundtable, discussion among participants is open, direct and results-oriented. It’s like having your own personal board of directors or business advisors to counsel you and offer new ideas. Participation in a roundtable allows you to capitalize on the extensive knowledge developed by each of the owners and managers present over their career and the life of their business.
